Oracle compra Sun: alcuni articoli da leggere

Non è IBM a comprare Sun ma Oracle, e per 7,4 miliardi di dollari. Java, Solaris, MySQL, tecnologie di virtualizzazione e di cloud computing, nonché una cospicua quota del mercato mondiale dei servers, ecco quello che Oracle si porta a casa con questa acquisizione, e nell’annuncio ufficiale dell’avvenuto accordo tra le due società Larry Ellison ha dichiarato che "The acquisition of Sun transforms the IT industry, combining best-in-class enterprise software and mission-critical computing systems. Oracle will be the only company that can engineer an integrated system – applications to disk – where all the pieces fit and work together so customers do not have to do it themselves. Our customers benefit as their systems integration costs go down while system performance, reliability and security go up".
